Hookmark Version 7.0 BETA (6483; Integration v. 403) is now available for download.
This new release introduces the Clean My Links feature! When enabled (which it is by default) when you copy or hook a link, Hookmark will first try to clean the link, removing URL cruft such as tracking parameters. There’s a new Clean My Links tab in Hookmark’s Settings window.
On that tab, Hookmark Pro users can add their own URL patterns to augment or replace how Hookmark cleans URLs matching particular patterns.
We think Clean My Links will appeal to Mac users because Mac users like things to be as simple and elegant as possible (short URLs). And they value their privacy. This feature removes information that companies like Amazon, X and Facebook use to track you.
URL patterns are stored on our script server so that we at CogSci Apps Corp. can improve your rules without you needing to reboot Hookmark (assuming you have enabled
FIXED a crash that could happen in Script Editor.
