Hookmark 6.4 Release Notes and Download Link

Hookmark Version 6.4 (6099; Integration v. 340) is now available for download.

  • NEW: A badge icon is available which attaches itself to the right edge of the window (sometimes it’s a bit off). Clicking it reveals a few commands. It can be shown and hidden via the General Preferences pane (and elsewhere).
  • NEW: We’ve added commands to the Finder’s Services menu. They are prefixed with “Hookmark: “. The Services menu replaces the Finder extension which is unreliable due to macOS limitations.
  • NEW: Added a Copy Link for Apple Mail command to the Advanced menu of the Title bar’s Action ☰ button. This is to get around a bug in pasting of links in macOS Mail messages such that Mail strips out the title and just pastes the URL.
  • NEW: To Hookmark’s Gear menu, added Search in Tags: ⌥⌘T and Search in Recent: ⌃⌥⌘R. This is to facilitate navigation in Bookmarks window using keyboard rather than mouse.
  • NEW: Hookmark will initially add itself to the System Setting’s Login items. Users can disable this in Settings Login Items & Extensions
  • IMPROVED: For new users, the default template for Hook to New notes (configured in Settings > Notes pane) is now Apple Notes rather than TextEdit.
  • IMPROVED: We have moved the Copy As Universal Link and Copy as Universal Markdown Link commands to a new Web Links menu of the Title bar’s Action ☰ button. Before it was necessary to down the option key to see these menu items.
  • IMPROVED: Enabled drag and drop linking from DEVONthink to Hookmark’s menu bar icon.
  • IMPROVED: ⌘H in the context of the Bookmarks window now hides the Bookmarks window. 
  • IMPROVED notification of new version of Hookmark being available 
  • IMPROVED Built-in Composition template folder. It contained a “Hook (.hook) files” folder. Now it is called “Hookmark (.hookmark) files” 
  • FIXED a rare issue with renaming of the Title item in the Context window.

Eligibility for updates

Hookmark software updates are free to any Hookmark CogSci Apps customer with a Hookmark Updates license that was valid at the time the update was released. Hookmark Pro and Hookmark Standard each come with one year of free access to software updates.

If your Hookmark Updates license has expired and you apply this update, please note that Hookmark will revert to Lite mode until you purchase and apply an Updates license. However, you can also revert to a previous version of Hookmark that was released during your Updates License period. Upgrading from Standard to Pro includes an additional 12-month Updates license.
