This release includes improvements to:

- the RELATED items list
- the Hookmark badge, and
- performance
There are also other core improvements, along with new and improved integrations with apps including iCab Browser, Merlin Project, Xcode, Traverse, and Bibliome.

Marked and Hookmark work particularly well together if you write in Markdown. With Hookmark’s Copy As Markdown Link command, you can create Markdown-formatted links to files, emails, notes, and other resources, paste them into your Markdown documents, and preview those documents in Marked.
Looking ahead
We have a lot planned for Hookmark 7.4, 7.5, and beyond.
In particular, we are working on integrating Hookmark with Apple Intelligence, with the goal of letting you ask natural-language questions about information in your Hookmark network.
We also plan to localize Hookmark into several languages, including French (my native language), German, and Japanese.
And there is more to come.

AI vs. human intelligence: on my Substack
Have you wondered what the difference is between human intelligence and AI?
I recently published a Substack article on the scientific and technical foundations of Hookmark as a contextual information retrieval tool. This article summarizes and links to a paper I presented at the 2026-09 ACM Hypertext conference‘s Human’26 workshop
I recently wrote about this from my perspective as a cognitive scientist: The IDO Skinny on Intelligence: How to Respond to Claims That AI Is or Is Not Intelligent. The article also links to three related pieces of mine about human and artificial intelligence.
My Ph.D. thesis, Goal Processing in Autonomous Agents, was at the intersection of psychology and AI. More than 30 years later, many of the ideas remain relevant, and I draw on them in my Substack writing about intelligence and AI.
