Hookmark 6.1

Hookmark Version 6.1 (5967; Integration v. 318) is now available for download.

Hookmark now features tags! In Context window, use Action ☰ button or ⌃T to add a tag to the currently selected item. There is now a Tags view in the Bookmarks window where you can click a tag and see all the items that have the tag. Manage tags there too (rename and delete them). For example, if you’re writing a paper on butterflies you can tag links to emails, web pages, and more, with “Butterflies”. If you enable syncing, your tags will be synced across your Macs.

Other improvements

  • NEW: You can now drag and drop files and web addresses in empty space of the Bookmarks window to add new bookmarks for them. Or drag them onto a bookmark to hook them to the bookmark.
  • NEW: support Mesh linking of .hookmark file targets by drag & drop on menu bar icon
  • NEW: Hook to New > folder now creates two new .hookmark files in a subfolder called “Hookmark files”. One points to the source; the other points to the new folder. Typically user will move the one pointing to the new folder.
  • NEW: Added Bookmarks window icon to menu bar window.
  • NEW: command to clear recent history.
  • NEW: Support Copy as Universal Markdown Link for web pages.
  • IMPROVED: Enable ⌥⌘C Copy As Universal Link for web pages too; this acts as Copy Link.
  • IMPROVED how ⌥⌘F puts the cursor in the find field.
  • IMPROVED: you can now press the return key to open the item that is selected in the bookmark window.
  • IMPROVED: Invoking Hookmark from Bookmarks window now acts on the selected bookmark, not the foreground app item.
  • IMPROVED: Removed all vestiges of commands that act on the secondary selection. This completes the transition started in Hookmark 5.0.
  • IMPROVED process for selecting title item.
  • FIXED: Sometimes there would be a big gap in Context window when deleting a hook.
  • FIXED: Sometimes invoking Hookmark with ⌃H would cause Bookmarks window to appear.
  • FIXED: Quick Look for title item did not work.
  • FIXED: Fixed a spurious case of No linkable item found in <App>
  • FIXED: AppleScript command “get Bookmark from Active window” did not work if the bookmark was x-callback-url.
  • FIXED: Invoking Hookmark on Hookmark file showed link rather than title.
  • FIXED: occasional failure of Hook to New > Finder: Folder with one text file.
  • FIXED exceptions and crashes.
  • FIXED Sonoma upgrade issue
  • FIXED: Automatically check for script updates could fail on Setapp build.
  • FIXED: When invoking Hook to New... Related links could be shown in Hook to New... list of templates.

New and improved software integrations

Since Hookmark 6.0 :

  • NEW integration with Mimestream 3.1, Unite 5 web app, Librewolf, ClickUp (UI scripting), MindManager (UI scripting), Spark Desktop (UI scripting), and Tyme.
  • NEW: Copy Selection and Link in Bike app.
  • IMPROVED integration with BBEdit, Bear, Agenda,QSpace Pro, Things, InDesign and Acrobat.

Eligibility for updates

Hookmark software updates are free to any Hookmark CogSci Apps customer with a Hookmark Updates license that was valid at the time the update was released. Hookmark Pro and Hookmark Standard each come with one year of free access to software updates.

If your Hookmark Updates license has expired and you apply this update, please note that Hookmark will revert to Basic mode until you purchase and apply an Updates license. However, you can also revert to a previous version of Hookmark that was released during your Updates License period. Upgrading from Standard to Pro includes an additional 12-month Updates license.
