Hookmark works with many Mac apps, not just the Finder.
When you invoke Hookmark on an item (using ^H), it targets the frontmost item of the current app: whatever is open and active or selected. You can copy a link to all kinds of resources.
You can send links to files in locally synced shared folders - such as Dropbox or iCloud - or even in revision control systems like Git. Recipients can then click on the link, and Hookmark finds the file and displays it in their Mac’s Finder window (or opens it) - even if the file has moved.
Invoke Hookmark on an item (using ^H) on a shared file then use “Copy Link”, and send the link via email or in a message. As long as the recipient is using Hookmark and has the file on their Mac, they should be able to use the link.
Solving an age-old problem, you can also link back to prior emails!
Just invoke Hookmark on an email, choose “Copy Link”.
You can then send the link to someone. As long as the recipient uses Hookmark and has the email on their Mac, they should be able to use the link to open the message in a compatible email app (such as Apple Mail, Airmail, or MailMate).
Hookmark has many other features and benefits. To learn more about Hookmark, check out the online documentation or just start using it and see what you discover.
